Our Physicians
Dr. Sohel Momin, along with Dr. Hemen Padhiar formed North Atlanta Family Practice in 2005. Born in London, England he is the oldest of three children and has lived in the Atlanta area since he was eight. Dr. Momin met his future partner while completing undergraduate studies at Emory University in 1997. After graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 2001 he completed a three year residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, a 2,000 bed referral center, where he gained the excellent training and valuable experience that he brings to his private practice. In addition to being board certified and the founding partner of North Atlanta Family Practice, Dr. Momin serves on the board of Amedisys Home Health, and meets regularly with patrons of Good Shepherd Place in Cumming, GA providing health and wellbeing counsel for the residents. He also volunteers as the team doctor at sports events for West Forsyth High School and volunteers his entire staff to administer student physicals for the benefit of high school athletic programs throughout the Forsyth county area. Dr. Momin enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
Dr. Hemen Padhiar was born in Calcutta, India and moved to the U.S at age of 4. Dr. Padhiar spent his childhood/teen years in Valdosta, Georgia. He then went to Emory University in 1993 for undergraduate studies. Dr. Padhiar went to medical school in Katowic, Poland at the Medical University of Silesia. He returned and completed his three-year Family Practice residency at the Medical College of Georgia; 1 year in Augusta, Georgia and the other 2 years in Waycross, Georgia with a private practice group. During his residency training, Dr. Padhiar was exposed to a broad range of specialties that included clinic, hospital, and nursing home care which he incorporates into his practice today. Dr. Padhiar’s area of interest in Geriatric Care and is involved with Chestnut Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cumming Nursing Home and Manor, Laurel Baye Nursing Home, and several assisted-living communities. Dr. Padhiar enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and their Scottish Terrier, Isabella.
